Ceramic Coating in Indian Land, SC

If you’re searching for ceramic coating in Indian Land, SC, you probably want three things: a clear explanation of what the coating does, a straight answer on price and terms, and an easy way to book. This article covers all three. My Detail Buddy is an owner-run mobile detailing business based in Waxhaw, NC, and we drive to your home or office, so the coating is applied in your own driveway or parking spot, not at a shop.

What ceramic coating is

Ceramic coating is a liquid layer that bonds to your paint and cures into a thin, protective film. Think of it as a longer-lasting layer on top of the paint, not a replacement for the paint itself. Traditional wax and sealant sit on the surface and wear away faster, which is why many owners who want less frequent reapplication look at ceramic coating.

A coating only works as well as the surface beneath it. If dirt, road grime, or old polish are sealed under the film, the coating can’t bond properly. That’s why the preparation matters as much as the product.

How it differs from wax and sealant

  • Wax gives a warm, glossy look and needs frequent reapplication.
  • Sealant lasts longer than wax and adds protection, but it still sits on the surface.
  • Ceramic coating bonds to the paint and is designed for a longer term, measured in years.

Ceramic coating is not a force field. It makes the car easier to clean and helps the paint resist the everyday contamination that dulls a finish, but it still needs regular washing.

What's included

Our ceramic coating is System X, applied after decontamination and polishing. In practice, that means:

  • Decontamination to remove bonded contaminants that a regular wash leaves behind.
  • Polishing to prepare the paint surface so the coating can bond to it.
  • Application of the System X ceramic coating in the term you choose.

Preparation takes time, which is why ceramic coating is a separate service from a basic wash. If you want the interior cleaned too, that’s a separate service, and many owners book it alongside the exterior.

Our System X options

Here are the System X ceramic coating options and their prices as we list them:

  • Crystal+ : $810, 2-year term
  • Pro+ : $1,500, 6-year term
  • Max G+ : $1,250, 10-year term, includes a free Glass+ windshield coating
  • Max MF matte : $1,500, 10-year term

Warranty coverage is specific to each package. We do not offer lifetime warranties. Ask us about the details for the package you’re considering before you book, so you know exactly what’s covered.

If you’re not sure which term fits, think about how long you plan to keep the vehicle, how often it’s parked outside, and how much you want to reduce reapplication. A shorter term can make sense for a leased car, while a longer term suits someone keeping a vehicle for years.

Who it's for

Ceramic coating works well for owners who:

  • Park outside, including in driveways and on streets around Indian Land, Fort Mill, and Waxhaw.
  • Want their paint easier to keep clean between details.
  • Prefer a longer-term protection plan over frequent waxing.
  • Are getting ready for a season of harsher weather and want the finish prepared.

It may not be the right fit if your paint has significant damage that needs correction first. In that case, we’ll talk through whether paint correction should come before the coating.

How a mobile appointment works

We come to you. Whether you’re in Indian Land, Waxhaw, Marvin, Weddington, Fort Mill, Wesley Chapel, Mt. Holly, or elsewhere in our service area, including Ballantyne, Myers Park, SouthPark, and Charlotte, we bring the work to your driveway or office lot.

To do that, we need two things from you:

  • A water spigot nearby to use for washing and rinsing.
  • A power outlet nearby to run equipment.

Please confirm both are accessible before we arrive. If you have questions about the space, ask when you book.

How long it takes

Appointment length depends on the vehicle, its condition, and the package you choose. We’ll confirm timing when you book so you can plan your day. Avoid washing the car or leaving it exposed to rain right after the appointment, and follow the aftercare instructions we give you. Those steps help the coating cure and perform as intended.

Pre-Winter Protection and fall specials

If you’re thinking about protection before cooler, wetter months, our Pre-Winter Protection service pairs a full detail with a 2-year System X ceramic coating. It’s listed on our fall specials page, priced by vehicle size from $749 to $899. Full details are one of our most-booked services, so this combination is a good way to get a clean, protected finish heading into the season.

Deposits

For new bookings made on or after October 1, 2026, we require a deposit of 20% of the service price. The deposit is non-refundable, but it always transfers to a rescheduled appointment and is deducted from your total. Bookings made before October 1 follow the arrangement they were made under.

How to book

Call or message us with your vehicle, the System X option you’re considering, and your preferred date. We’ll confirm availability, timing, and the deposit, if one applies. Then we’ll arrange a time that works with your schedule.

If you’re not sure which option fits your car, reach out and we’ll talk it through before you commit. Our goal is for you to know exactly what you’re getting and feel good about it.
