If you’re searching for mobile car detailing in Indian Land, SC, here is the short version. My Detail Buddy is an owner-run mobile detailer based in Waxhaw, NC. We drive to your home or office, you provide a water spigot and a power outlet, and we detail your vehicle right where it’s parked. You don’t drop it off, wait around, or rearrange your day.
This article covers what the service is, who it suits, what’s included, how an appointment works, and how to book.
What mobile car detailing means in Indian Land
Mobile detailing is a full detail done at your location instead of a shop. Your car stays in your driveway, your garage apron, or your office parking spot while we work. Our equipment runs on your water and power, which is why we ask for a spigot and an outlet.
Detailing is also different from a quick wash. A wash removes surface dirt. A detail cleans and restores the paint, wheels, trim, glass, and interior carefully, and it can protect them afterward.
Who it's for
Mobile detailing fits best if you:
- Have a busy schedule and don’t want to lose half a day at a shop
- Drive an SUV, sedan, or truck that needs a proper inside-and-out reset
- Want your car ready before winter, a trip, or selling it
- Have pet hair, smoke, or food smells that regular vacuuming won’t fix
- Manage company vehicles and want on-site service (we offer fleet and commercial detailing with monthly fleet accounts)
What's included
Exactly what you get depends on the service you pick. Here is how our detailing services break down.
Exterior detailing
Our exterior detail includes a hand wash, decontamination, clay bar treatment, wheels, paint sealant, trim, and tire dressing. Clay bar treatment pulls bonded grit out of the paint that washing alone leaves behind. That’s why a freshly detailed car feels smooth and not just clean.
Interior detailing
Our interior detail covers a detailed vacuum, wipe-down, crevices, floor mats, door jambs, leather conditioning, and streak-free glass. For deeper problems, we can add:
- Carpet and seat shampoo: hot-water extraction for carpets and cloth seats, with spot and stain treatment
- Interior steam cleaning: vents, cupholders, seats, and carpets
- Pet hair removal: embedded hair from carpets, seats, and cargo areas
- Odor removal: an ozone treatment for smoke, pet, and food smells, done after a deep interior clean
Add-ons and problem-solvers
- Paint correction: machine polishing that removes swirls and light scratches, from one-step enhancement to 1-step and 2-step correction
- Water spot removal: hard-water spots and etching on paint and glass
- Trim restoration: faded black plastic trim, with a UV-protective coating
- Headlight restoration: sanding, polishing, and sealing cloudy headlights
- Engine bay detailing: safe degreasing, cleaning, and dressing
- Ceramic coating: System X coatings in 2, 6, and 10 year terms, applied after decontamination and polishing
Full Detail (In & Out): the place to start
If you’re not sure what to book, a Full Detail (In & Out) is the usual starting point. It combines the exterior and interior work above in one visit, so the whole vehicle gets attention at once. We do it for sedans, SUVs, and trucks.
Pricing depends on the vehicle and its condition, so for a Full Detail please get a quote. We’d rather give you an accurate number than a vague “starting at.”
Pre-Winter Protection
If you want more than a clean car, ask about Pre-Winter Protection: a Full Detail plus a 2-year System X ceramic coating. A ceramic coating adds a protective layer over properly prepared paint, which makes the car easier to wash and helps it stand up to the elements.
As part of our October 2026 Fall Specials, Pre-Winter Protection is $749, $799, or $899 depending on vehicle size. Tell us what you drive and we’ll confirm which price applies. If you’re reading this after October 2026, ask for current pricing.
Ceramic coatings come with package-specific warranties. We don’t offer lifetime warranties.
How a mobile appointment works
- Tell us about your vehicle. Share the make and model, what you want done, and anything that bothers you, like pet hair, a smell, or swirls in the paint.
- Get a quote and pick a time. We confirm the service, the price, and the appointment.
- Pay the deposit. New bookings made on or after October 1, 2026 require a deposit of 20% of the service price. It is non-refundable, it always transfers if we reschedule, and it is deducted from your total.
- Set up the spigot and outlet. On the day, make sure we can reach a water spigot and a power outlet near where the car will be parked.
- We detail the car on site. You can be home or at work. When we finish, we walk you through the result.
Apartments, condos, and HOAs
If you live in a community with shared parking or limited outdoor access, check that there is a usable spigot and outlet before you book. Tell us about the setup when you request your quote and we’ll help you work out what’s possible.
How long does it take?
It varies. A one-service visit takes less time than a Full Detail, and a heavily soiled interior or a paint correction takes longer than a light refresh. Vehicle size and condition matter too. We won’t give you a generic number here. When you book, we’ll tell you what to expect for your vehicle so you can plan your day.
Costs worth knowing about
Not every price is posted, so here is what we can share:
- Scratch removal: $10 for a scratch in the clear coat. The main single-panel correction runs $75–$100, scaling upward by panel and size.
- Ceramic coating (System X): Crystal+ is $810 (2-year), Pro+ is $1,250 (6-year), Max G+ is $1,500 (10-year, includes a free Glass+ windshield coating), and Max MF matte is $1,500 (10-year).
- Newsletter welcome offer: $20 off with code BUDDY20.

Keeping the car clean between details
A few habits make a detail last:
- Wash in the shade and avoid letting soap dry on the paint.
- Don’t leave bird droppings or tree sap sitting. Both can mark the clear coat if left.
- Dry the car after washing so hard-water spots don’t form.
- Shake out floor mats and vacuum regularly so grit doesn’t grind into carpet.
If you’d rather not think about it, our maintenance memberships keep your car on a schedule:
- Buddy: $49.99/month (exterior)
- Buddy+: $99.99/month (inside and out)
- Buddy Pro: $179/month (every two weeks)
- Premium: $319/month (weekly)
Pro and Premium members get 10% off other services. A starter detail may be required before a membership begins.

How to book
Request a quote through our website and tell us three things: what you drive, what you’d like done, and where the car will be parked. We’ll confirm the service, the price, and a time, and you can make sure the water spigot and power outlet are ready. We’ll take care of the rest.
